Running at 400V keeps the current lower for the same wattage, so your wiring can be lighter and your connections less stressed. With a 300mm tube length, you’re concentrating that power into a tight zone. You get high watt-density without having to redesign the whole assembly. But here’s the catch: that much heat density means you have to plan for cooling and clearance. If you don’t get the ambient conditions and reflector geometry right, nearby parts can get too hot. Plan ahead, and you avoid headaches down the line.
What They’re Made Of—and Why It Matters
The quartz envelope handles extreme temperatures and doesn’t crack when things heat up fast. Inside, the halogen cycle keeps the filament stable by putting evaporated tungsten back where it belongs, so output stays steady over the life of the lamp. We add a reflector coating to direct infrared energy forward. That means more of the heat goes where you need it, and you waste less energy. For installation, we use R7s bases. This double-ended linear contact locks into ceramic holders, giving you solid support and a reliable electrical connection. It’s a clean fit—easy to drop in as a replacement in equipment designed for standard halogen lamp footprints.
