
Getting the Most Out of Your 650mm 1500W Halogen IR Lamps
When you’re flash curing, you need an instant blast of heat. You want to set those coatings or adhesives right now, but without cooking the actual part underneath. That’s why we built these 650mm 1500W halogen lamps. They’re designed specifically to handle that sudden thermal shock. The secret is the halogen cycle. It basically regenerates the tungsten filament, which keeps your light output steady and stops the lamp from burning out as fast as those standard IR tubes. Let’s talk power. 1500W packed into 650mm is a lot of heat. We spec’d it this way so you can hit your target surface temperature in a matter of seconds. That high watt-per-centimeter ratio is exactly what makes “flash” curing actually work. Just a heads-up: if you’re swapping one of these into an old rig, double-check your power supply. You don’t want to be the person tripping the breakers because the system can’t handle the draw. What’s under the hood? We use high-purity quartz glass. It has to be that tough to handle the insane pressure and heat inside the tube. Because of the halogen gas, the filament doesn’t just evaporate and disappear. You won’t deal with that annoying, rapid dimming you get with the cheap stuff. And since these live in flash machines, we made the connectors a tight, secure fit. No arcing, no sparks, just a solid connection during those high-current cycles. A few things to keep in mind. These are pretty much drop-in replacements for most industrial arrays. They’ll shave time off your cycles and save you some floor space. But, there’s a catch. Because they get so incredibly hot, the quartz can crack if it touches a cold liquid or a metal tool while it’s running.Be careful. Also, please, keep the glass clean. If you touch the tube, the oils from your fingerprints will burn right into the quartz. That creates a hot spot, and a hot spot means a blown tube. Wire them up right, keep your reflectors polished, and you’ll get every bit of that 1500W working for you.
