We use gold-coated reflectors to make sure every single watt you pay for actually hits the wood, rather than just heating up the inside of your machine.
The magic of the gold coating
Here is the thing about standard quartz lamps: they’re messy. They throw radiation in every direction, and a huge chunk of that energy just vanishes into the machine housing. Wasteful. We fix this by adding a thin layer of gold to the reflector. Now, I’m not talking about jewelry—it’s about physics. Getting the power right
When you’re picking out these lamps, it’s all about the wattage-to-length ratio. That’s what determines your heat density. If you need fast line speeds, you want high-wattage tubes to give you that punch. But there’s a catch. If you cram too much wattage into a short tube, you’ll fry the filaments. We spend a lot of time balancing the voltage and wattage. The goal is to get the lamp up to temperature fast without killing the quartz envelope. It’s about making the tool last.
Making it work in your shop
The best part? These are drop-in replacements. You don’t need a degree in engineering to install them; just wire them into your current controllers and let the gold coating do the heavy lifting. But, there is one big rule:keep them clean. Gold is amazing, but it hates sawdust and resin. If gunk builds up on that reflective surface, your efficiency tanks immediately. You’ll start seeing hot spots on your panels, and your heat distribution will go all over the place. Keep the optical path clear, and these things will treat your wood exactly the way you want.
