If you need heat—and you need it now—standard heaters usually won’t cut it. That’s why we build these 500mm halogen ovens. Here is the secret: instead of wasting time heating up all the air inside the box, these lamps use shortwave infrared. It’s like stepping into direct sunlight on a July afternoon. The heat goes straight into your workpiece. No waiting around. The power side of things We went with the 500mm length because it just fits right into most mid-sized curing tunnels. But the real magic is in the wattage. We crank these up so you get a massive temperature spike the second you flip the switch. It’s fast. Really fast. And that changes everything for your floor plan. Since the heat hits so hard, you can actually shorten your oven or speed up your line without worrying about under-curing. Just a heads-up, though: make sure your wiring and breakers can handle that initial surge of power when you start up, or you’ll be spending your morning resetting the electrical panel. The build: Quartz and connectors Inside, we use high-purity quartz glass to hold the tungsten filament. It has to be quartz because the heat inside that lamp is intense—standard glass would just warp or melt. We also use R7s or SK15 connectors. Why? Because lamps eventually burn out. It’s a fact of life. These connectors make it a simple “plug and play” swap so your line isn’t down for hours. One tip: if your shop is dusty, go with the coated quartz. If dust bakes onto the glass, you get hot spots, and the lamp will pop way sooner than it should. Making it actually work These are perfect for things like PET blowing, drying adhesives, or powder curing. The heat sinks in deep and fast. But there’s a catch. You have to be obsessive about your reflectors. If they get pitted, dirty, or slightly crooked, you’re basically throwing energy away. And because these things put out so much raw heat, don’t skimp on the cooling fans. You want the inside screaming hot, but you don’t want the outer chassis burning your hand when you touch it.
